Brake Lights out??

Start at the fuse (it is most likely the fuse), then the brake light switch (above the brake pedal). They tend to go bad. After that I would follow the circuit up to the turn signal switch. They go bad there also. From the turn signal switch on the wires for the turn signals carry the power back to the brake light bulbs, which as you have accurately surmised is shared with the turn signal.

Brake Lights out??

thanks. i went home and all the lights were out. i got pissed and hit one of the lights and it started flashing so i took the lense out and it looks like the signal/brake bulb doesnt fit in the socket and it pops out. i think it was an 1156 or 57. the oone with a single "node" at the bottom.

Oh yeah, and before I fixed it, sometimes that bulb would work, sometimes it wouldn't. Off and on, it was weird. I just got a new bulb. The socket was corroded some. It hasn't gone out at all since I put a new bulb.
