Ok now this morning on my drive into work the studder was still there and the boost never got over 20psi.
I guess a trip to m-chan68 it goes. If he can't fix it now one can.
I leave for a sailing regatta tonight, so I will have to rent a pick up.
Shame, my truck is so comfy and roomy. Well what can you do.
Thanks for everyone's help.
If anyone has a last ditching suggestion please advise. Other wise, a rental it is.
edit:
don't know if it makes any difference but on my way home I WOT it for a minute and my CAC (cold side) blew off. I replaced it with a Riffraff. about 2 months ago.
ps I did clean out the fitting, at all connectings (MAP, IAT2, EBP).
My ride again has started to develop a small studder during acceleration. It seems like only when it's cold. But when the temps are at normal it's not there.
At work now, but would like to get a heads up on it by the time I get home. To know what to look for.
No modes, no codes nothing but the studder.
Using T6 every 5000klm, fuel filter every 15000klm.
I have a fuel filter at home and will first replace it, before anything else.
BTW, all filter are OEM
Thanks for any ideas/help
ps about a year ago I had something similar. But I through some codes. I will look them up here at FTE.
Tps is throttle position Sensor, witch is part of the egr valve, I'm in Nevada at the moment and don't have my notes, let's monitor egr vp valve position , egr d , desired volts, maybe one of the guys would post the pids for gauge to enter. Also when was the last time you drained the water separator.you do have oem fuel and oil filters right.

I only use OEM filters.
I changed a the oil (T6)
I changed the fuel filters (drained the separator)
When I get home on Friday I will check the throttle position sensors.
If you know someone with an IDS, it'll definitely help.
The main things you want to look at is a power balance without the FICM compensating for weak injectors.
It's a good place to start and will tell you what you need to know.
Something else to consider....
For the longest time with my truck an injector or two would occasionally studder/miss on cold start up until warm or sometimes even while warm. The pedal would get hard and I'd have to press the pedal further to get the same result as I used to with a quarter pedal.
Using the IDS and as verified by Mr.PSE, injector #2 was slow to come back up after it was turned off with FICM compensation off. I replaced the offending injector, but still had a hard pedal and slight miss.
After doing some research, I found that my FICM Logic board was toast after swapping with a spare FICM I had. Performance and starting dramatically improved, but there was one other factor: the FICM relay. Mine was the original and at 189K it was long past done. After replacing it this weekend, my truck is fully cured.
OK, back from my trip and on to my truck.
Just took the truck out.
Up to temp.
Boost didn't go over 20psi. Felt like it was holding back.
I have the latest firmware and software on my AutoEnginuity. What can I monitor while driving to diagnosis my issue?
I use all OEM filters and use 5-40 T6 oil. (all just replaced)
I use Diesel Kleen every fill up.
I have replaced the ICP about 6 months ago.
Now I have replaced the EBP sensor. Cleaned out the tube. (removed it and cleaned)
Cleaned out the IAT2.
Cleaned out the MAP tube and nipple.
KOEO
BAR = 14.5v
EBP = 14.9v
MAP = 14.5v
FICM = 47.5v
info just to catch up.
I have had a similar shudder, and same goes for EGR and VGT relearn and sensor cleaning. I think you are on the right track. Would sure be nice if m-chan can look at it if you can get a specialist appointment with him?
Hello Head Viking, at cold start check the other side of the FICM board =vp, lp. your 47.5 is this engine warm?

What was the VP and LP on FICM Board? You can monitor EGR with 3 slots VP Valve position, egrd v Volts desired , and TP Throttle position
Just finished giving my EGR another clean up. Boy it gets caked up quickly. Anyway after I cleaned up myself had something to drink. Wife gave me a list to pick up for dinner. I took the truck out for another spin.
Results
I got 28-29psi boost no studded or sluggishness. I'll wait till the morning to set my scan gauge up to monitor EGR with, VP Valve position, egrd v Volts desired , and TP Throttle position. To see what I get. The FICM, VP and LP as well.
I'll report tomorrow. Hot and tired right now.
I just hope that it's just my EGR. Maybe look into a purchase of a new one.
