So i traded a car for this truck, and somebody did a nice job putting the cowl patches in, but I couldn't live with the black primer... Took friday off work and gave her a quick respray. I figured while I was in there, it was time for the 80's power antenna and the rust spots to go.
Also i wasn't a fan of the wheels, so I added some 56 olds caps. I want to take this into a 60's mild custom direction.
The issue is there is a mild color variance.. its good enough to drive for now, but i will do the bed soon.
That's a lot of work in three day's. At that rate I would be scared to see how much you'll get done in a entire month. If I had you living next door I could had cut my 5 year build down to a few months.
MAN! You guys who do this stuff all the time and in a week end have no idea what it does to a guy like me. I walk outside...look at my truck....alternate between scratching my head and scratching my butt....walk back inside. I really should sell my truck to a real man and buy a MIATA.
The truck was sprayed inside the garage... old school style with a wet floor. It needs a cut/buff but it will be OK. I did prime it and enjoy the nice weather outside when doing all the bodywork and sanding. I had to pull the truck half into the garage to get the TIG leads to shave the antenna though haha.
I typically do the metalwork/shaping end of things, so shaving antennas and fixing rot and making patches is not a big deal. The body and paint kills me. While the clear was drying, I grabbed my stepdad and started shaping a roof insert for his car im building. Any bare metal you see in this pic was hand made.
This truck is just my daily beater, I'm currently building a 27 model T from scratch, along with this 30 pontiac repair, and im helping with a 34 build. heres some pics
