Morning all.

That 66 Ford is unbelievable. The hours that he had to spend must have been incredible. That took some real brain power to get that Engine and all the electrical packed in there. And the videos were nicely put together.

Smoked ribs were a hit yesterday. Everyone enjoyed they and seconds and thirds. My son made a blueberry pie in the dutch oven that was a great dessert. It was good having the son and family here. Enjoyed their company.

Good luck Tom, drive safe.

Good morning Connecticut.

Got lucky with this one. Discovered yesterday that the axle seal in my old Lincoln gave up the ghost. Planning on making the drive out with another trailer on Wednesday. Looks like it's new axle shaft time.

I can't complain though. The offending seal's last official act was dragging this thing to Minnesota and driving back last week.

Have a new shaft on order from Amazon to be delivered tomorrow. Will be doing this in my parents garage for lack of a better place. Brings back memories from high school!

Kyle, one of the reasons for the high price on that truck is the fx4 emblem on the side. I found, when I was looking a couple years ago, that those model year trucks gained at least 3k on the price if it had the fx4 package. In those years, there wasn't really much of a difference between them and a regular xlt, but the dealers still sell them as a premium. Now the fx4 package is just an option and not a trim level I'm pretty sure.

Tom, I hope the fix goes smoothly, breakdowns and problems are the last thing you need to be dealing with right now! I wrecked my truck along time ago during a move, hit ice towing a 6x12 trailer and the truck was totaled.

Josiah, you may be on to something there. I did find a nice truck in RI for sale, 5.4 and auto though but I could live with that

If I remember correctly, the 2003 MY f150 was one of the least problematic years in the 5.4L run. I am pretty sure they had an updated head that had more threads than previous years, so no blow out issues, but still had a one piece spark plug which eliminated the broken spark plug issue. That one you are looking at there is a sharp looking truck. The fx4 package on those trucks, though minor in difference, makes them significantly more appealing to me for some reason. Doesn't seem like too bad a price either for the miles and apparent condition.

Morning all.

Josiah, Sounds like a good truck to go for.

Tom, have faith in that white whale. Needs a little loving care and back on the road again. My 02 F350 used to blow rear seals regularly when I took it off road. Never an axle, just the seal and then the pumpkin would be filled with a muddy soup. Pain in the a** to clean.

I guess we are in for some heat this week, maybe the Cape will have a breeze off the ocean. I may take a ride to check it out. And get a nice Seafood diner.

Sorry your Lincoln's not as reliable as it used to be. At least it makes long trips real comfortable.

(Looked at my air bag solenoids last week, and discovered that the air bags were leaking too)

Good morning everyone.

Doesn't really bother me NutJob, these kind of things happen. A little disappointed that it's leaking without any bearing issue to speak of, that was a National bearing assembly. I've always paid more for name-brand parts to avoid quality issues like this.

On the upside, I'm using the heck out of my Amazon Prime membership. They only had one shaft left, and it was apparently in Seattle. I'm sure THAT was a little costly to fly out here for today, but I only paid $10.99 for shipping.
