Thanks ND So what bell housings were available for the F150 in 79? Do you have the pic break down ?
This is the only pic.
1979: There are two different 7C508 clutch release lever ball pivot seats, 351M or 400. Two different 7548 throw out bearings, 351M or 400. Two different 7515 clutch forks, 351M or 400.
The 351M/400 7505 bell housing is the same 1977/78, 1979 before serial number DG0,001. 1979 351M/400 from serial number DG0,001 is different.
1977 all I-6 and V8's have the clutch release lever bracket (not shown in pic), 1978/79's do not.
Sorry I was in a rush yesterday. The bell house is for a 79 with a 302 2wd, with a granny low manual, the cluck fork. Has a tab behind it. Does the clip into the piece shown in the above bellhouse?the previous one that came off has the tab sheared off. If I do clip it in the fork doesn't seem to reach the middle of the transmission and grab the throwout bearing . I wish I could post pictures.
This should be the fork .. Thanks to Bill and Mike .. Is this what you have? DOTZ-7515-A .. Clutch Fork = 1970/76 240/300/302/360/390 / 1977/79 300/302 // 1977/78 351M/400 / 1979 351M/400 before serial number DG0,001.
Yup! That's the fork I have! Does the clip slip on to latch on the bellhouse?
It will look like it wont reach once clipped in but what you will find is that when assembled, it will reach. The two prongs of the fork apply pressure to about the centerline of the throw out bearing so it can pivot.
