Hello guys. I'm Rafa, I'm new here and arrived because i need some help.
I've got a 2011 e-350 6.8L V10 with 189.XXX miles.
I had to change the headgaskets because it overheated and now the van won't start.
-Front of the van is not installed.
-Cranks but doesn't start.
-Checked for spark, none was found.
-Fuel is present.
-With my scan tool checked for engine speed (rpm) and that was 0.
-The last thing i checked was voltage to the crankshaft position sensor plug which revealed 0 voltage.
I had to leave cause it was late and the van is at a friend's house.
Any help on this? I have limited time to work on it. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Connect a digital volt meter set to AC volts, and check the output voltage from the crank sensor when you crank the engine. If you don't get anything, the sensor is either bad, or not close enough to the "tone ring" to get a signal.
There will be no voltage at the crank sensor plug, the PCM doesn't supply any to the sensor itself. The sensor is like an ABS brake sensor, it will send a signal back to the PCM, so do the above, and report back
I verified that the ring is clean, not broken and is facing front. The sensor itself i did not remove or cleaned it. I will try this in a few minutes and let you know.
Yeah, it has like 6 or 7 grounds all conected. Maybe I'll have to get a wiring diagram for the crank sensor to see if it somehow is connected to the front.
