Change oil soon
Does anyone know how long we have after the message pops up from change oil soon to change oil now? I got the message the other day and drove another 400 mi., then changed. That run had 7,800 mi. on it, and I did pull a sample and sent it in today.

I think it's by percent. I always run until it changes to "required" and it's usually a pretty good cushion though I've never been able to remember to document it to find out the real number.
In the vehicle health report you get a 5% warning I think, so it's not necessarily a fixed number of miles.

Thats what I intend on doing in the future, waiting until it changes to change oil now. I am driving approx. 300 mi. round trips currently and wasn't sure how long it was before the message changed. By the formula you posted it should have changed or was going to very shortly. With UOA data to go along with the IOLM I can make an informed decision on waiting until it reads change oil now or waiting longer.
