Weatherstripping

Anyone who's done it have opinion on who's weatherstripping is best? LMC is a lot cheaper than Mac's...what's the quality like? Any other better manufacturers out there?

Weather stripping

I'm also interested in the subject. Any ideas on the "mastic" that was put between sheet metal parts?

Little progress

Hey guys, just wanted to give you an update...i got exhaust hung on only to find out I have leaking manifolds, go figure....I've made a couple short shakedown runs and everything seems to be holding together and working as it should...I got the tailgate put on after stealing a mount off my parts truck...I do have a question, my factory fuel gauge doesn't work although I put a new sending unit in, anyone have any ideas? Or maybe it's the voltage regulator on the back of the gauges?

My thoughts are, is the sending unit grounded, do the other gauges work? The VR should put out an average ~ 5 volts. [QUOTE].i got exhaust hung on only to find out I have leaking manifolds/QUOTE] It is disappointing to take a few steps forward only to back-up.

Ignition switch problems?

Having issues keeping this fridge running...sometimes it will start and run fine, other times nothing at all or it cuts out and dies...wires to the coil are tight...ignition switch is OEM and seems like it has a lot of play between the metal housing and the plastic/rosin insert...anyone else ran into this? I'm sure there's the possibility of corrosion and everything else inside the switch as well being 55 years old

run the coil wire directly to the battery and see if symptoms stop. Sometimes it can be a bad coil that stops working intermittently when it gets hotter. Also if you hook up wire to coil directly, make sure you don't leave it plugged in for long when not running engine, can fry points or electrical pickup in distributor.

Switch

I ended up just putting a new switch in from macs...not bad on the quality...it's not like the OEM switches that give you accessory when turned to the left...anywho, it works and we're back on the road again...speaking of switches, I've been eyeballing the wiper switch and motor kit on the ol ebay...has anyone used this kit? My truck has electric wipers but they don't work, unsure if it's the switch or motor, but thought I might just replace it all
