Hey guys, check this out...Don't know if it matters or not....when she won't start after her initial start in the morning, if I give her one shot of starter fluid, she'll start. I pump gas, and at my station today a customer in a 05 6.0 told me he had the same issue and it turned out to be a module (of course he couldn't remember, so he'll get back to me after speaking with his mechanic). My fingers are crossed! Thoughts please?

Don't use sataring fluid you can cause yourself more problems. You need to diag the problem what did the scangauge say your ficm, icp, and ipr were doing when it was warm and wouldn't start?

When you're cranking the engine to start, does your oil pressure gauge on the dash come up? Where abouts are you located? Someone may be close by that can help you.

It moves a little bit, I can't tell right now because my switch is acting up again as well. Sometimes I'll turn my key and absolutely nothing happens except for the idiot lights in the dash. That's what's happening today, besides the no start. I just had her towed home. I'm in the Pacific Northwest. I'll try her again later and see. Thank you.

A local shop plugged my truck into a Snap-On diagnostic computer, a really cool portable hand held device, don't know it's model, while my truck was running (she'll start in the morning just fine).
Wow, it read three pages of errors. He said main thing is my FICM, and my IPR, EGR, and glow plugs.
"Just about got it all my friend" he said with a sad look on his face.
He did it for free, 5 minutes before lunch, didn't give me any codes or readout. It obviously wasn't necessary. Didn't even discuss the starting when warm issue, that's currently a mute point!
I'm thinking of sending my FICM for repair and upgrade first. Should I replace one part at a time, start her, drive around the block, then the IPR and start her...or replace all my parts and complete the repair prior to starting her?
Thank you in advance! I'm grateful to have you guys!

The nothing happens when turning the key was the starter. Now that she'll start in the morning, I notice none of my gauges read anything while cranking. They all just sit at the bottom, once started, they all jump right up to mid level.
A scan yesterday told me that I have these issues: ficm, ipr, egr, glow plugs. Nothing about a hpop issue or hpo leak. Thank God!
Now the work begins!

the no start when hot, is probably a high pressure oil leak.
you may or may not get codes for this.
you need something to read live data with while cranking the truck when its warmed up and wont start.

need to see ICP and IPR while cranking hot.

I was wondering if I'd get different codes or errors while cranking it when it won't start. She starts fine in the morning, but refuses to start again until the next morning. She'll start with a squirt of ether, that was just a test, I don't do it regularly. I'm not driving the truck right now. I reckon the first thing I buy should be a scanguage2 and install it.

You don't say if you can do the work yourself. The leak test can be found on youtube. They explain it well. Just type in 6.0 test Look for Ron's posts.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I'm new to diesels, but I've always done my own repairs. I'm gonna learn a lot on this one, I just simply cannot afford a shop.
