Well, still haven't done a compression test yet , but I think this is the nail in the coffin for this engine. 90 degrees there about, sitting for 5 days. Here's a cold start video
Yeah, that's about what the blowby looks like on mine as well. I think I'm just gonna run it that way until I have to do something different. I may start keeping my eyes open for a deal on a lower mileage mill, but if it's still working for what you need it to do, why not run it? What are you going to do, ruin the engine?
I kind of agree with Nate here. I thought blowby out of the crankcase was somewhat normal. Are you going to quit driving it altogether? I guess you also have the rearend to contend with. truth be told, when you started it up, I thought "that's not bad at all"...I dunno It actually sounded pretty smooth and fired right up. Does the haze go away after it's warm or does the blowby get worse? I guess you could have a winter project now that you have another rig and pull that engine for a complete teardown and rebuild!
When it starts, its obviously not hitting how it should be, and it really smokes. I just don't think it should smoke like that at 90 degrees and all 8 glow plugs checked and known working. I have pretty much quit driving it for the rear end sake.
My issue is it can't pull the camper. It struggled and struggled, and I just don't think it should have been that big of deal. Definatly no long distance camping trips untill this is all sorted out. Its all on Green Machine!
