Actually It is probably because he had his e-mail shown on the site and a e-mail harvester came by picked up on it.

It won't be mikes fault.

This has shown the importance of not putting your email on a Post on FTE but instead, Activate the FTE ONLY e-mail system in your profile.

This will allow FTE users to contact you ,without you getting spammed by people like the person above did.

email scam

This is a variant of the Nigeria Bank Scam. Whenever I get similar E-mails I always check Hoaxbusters.

<http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/>

I have gotten a lot of hoax E-mails, most were forwarded by friends who hadn't checked them out. I usually send a polite but strongly worded reply informing them that it's a hoax and to please not send me similar things in the future. We're all smarter than that (after all, we drive Fords, don't we?) Save yourself some embarrassment and check 'em out before you forward 'em!

I've received variations of that email. It's kind of annoying.

I've also picked up viruses when the kids are so kind as to turn off the firewall. One of them sent random files off my pc to people on my list. Attached to the file was a 78k sleeper. Most of my friends are astute enough to know when something looks fishy. Except for my boss, (I've worked there six years), who received an email from me titled, "Resume.doc".

Another time I started getting a few hundred returned emails at a time, one being from the ISP wanting to know what was going on. I was spamming and didn't even know it.

Signed,

I know about those Hoax mails.
I got one from "Mil1ion" not to long ago.
It wasn't him, but it was a virus attached.
