The frame was probably shortened at some point.
If so could you post some pics of that area?

Just wondering if you've had a chance to look at the frame. I have a high boy frame and may put my body on it.

Falcoon, the frame was shortened, it used to be a long bed, rear spring perches are now bolted on and not very carefully. Are you referring to the front or back of the truck? Front seems untouched. When I first got it the front axle was too far fwd.



I was able to center a little better by turning the front springs end for end, there is a 1-1/2" difference, it still could use a bit more, but is going to be good. Not sure why the PO didn't move the body farther forward, the firewall was almost touching the 460, but that could have been moved forward also. The PO also had installed his own lift kit, which I want to rework this winter.

Referring to the rear.
Thought maybe they cut out a piece from the middle and welded it back together.
Sounds like they cut off the back and relocated the spring perches.
