VIN Plate Help
So I got the info off the VIN plate and there is an incansistancy? Or maybe I'm unaware of something?
My truck is a 1979 F250 Supercab 4WD
The first part of the VIN agree's with that, but the Model number is showing 2WD on the VIN Plate?
X26: TRUCK SERIES
X26 '78-'79 4 wheel drive pickup (F250 Super Cab)
X262: MODEL
X262 '78 F250 2WD Super Cab Pickup 8500
'79 F250 2WD Super Cab Pickup 8400
The codes are showing if it was a F250 4WD it should be X282?
What gives boys?

Your warranty plate is correct, your info is wrong.
According to the Ford parts catalog in 1979 model X262 is for a 4WD F250 Supercab pickup w/ 8400 GVW.
Code X282 is for a 4WD F250 Supercab cab & chassis.
