Question 429 4V "Lima Engine"

Hey everyone,

I have an opportunity to buy a 429 4V "Lima Engine" that came out of a dump truck. It ran when it was pulled. It's for sell for $200.

Can anyone tell me whether this is a good engine for a 78 or 79 F-250 4x4? Is $200 a good price? Are there any advantages or disadvantages to this particular engine? I plan to rebuild it and throw in a very mild cam. Maybe add EFI.

Sorry, I don't have access to any of the head or block casting numbers.

Thanks for your help.

That swap will not work without a ton of work. See this thread from Ford Forums;
