I have a 65 F-250 that's a 4WD conversion. I've been taking things apart to repair/restore/modify some very questionable decisions that were made prior to being in my possession and I've been having a hell of a time determining exactly what axles were used, making it difficult for me to get parts ordered up. I can see some stamping on both front and rear, as well as a tag on the front. By what I believe is the BOM on the front tag, 603396-1, it's a Dana 70 from a 76-78 D300 Sweptline Pick up, but some other data seems to conflict that finding.(The tag layout looks like a Spicer format, indicating a 4.09 ratio, but the attached catalog page indicates a 4.10) The rear has a few stamps, an unreadable tag and a very visible "80" which at least indicates a Dana 80, right? I'll include my data source and a few pics, and would LOVE some help to be sure!
It says D3TA - It's a Ford tag - D - 1970's era - 3 - 1973 starting use of the part.
Would assume the whole axle is 1973 or newer Ford.
The rear is either Dana 60 or 70 but not an 80 as the diff cover isn't tall enough. Looks like a Dana 60 to me from here. Stock rearend in a '65 F250 is a Dana 60 and could be 4.10 ratio. That's what my 1966 F250 is.
Post the axle code from your warranty plate and we can at least tell what the rear would have originally been.
Ok, I'll see what other data points I can provide, including the door tag info. A guy at West Coast Differentials has been really nice/cool about helping me out, but even he said I should do some more research because a couple things didn't add up. when I look at pictures of all the various axle assemblies, this one looks dead on to the Ford Dana 60.
With regards to the rear, I thought that "80" stamp was very telling in the model, but I'm learning all kinds of interesting things about the meaning of stampings on this drivetrain.

Here's the original owner/warranty info which is pretty neat in its own right!
It may or may not help to know that it's an 8 lug wheel, and the knuckles are about the size of a small volleyball.
I really appreciate the help! I was not only waiting to order brake parts, but also waiting to replace the broken hub locks and didn't know which Warns to order.

The code 24 for your rear differential would indicate it originally came with the 4.10 Dana 60.
