2012 f150 5.0 liter....Every morning when I leave for work I back out of my drive way and when I push in the breaks they are super squeaky. When I got my tires rotated the dealer said breaks were fine. I noticed my neighbors f150 Eco boost does the same things but not as loud. When the breaks are warm it doesn't do it. Can this be prevented it wakes up my parents in the morning.
There's another thread on this as it is quite common ( mine does it ) .......don't remember cause ....condensation maybe if I recall. .....nonetheless it's normal
Mine does it every once in awhile. My wife's car did it constantly and loudly every morning. For her Infiniti some claimed that there was a caliper pin that was replaced that solved their problem. Most times when you go in for this at the dealer all they will do is either resurface the rotor or clean the pads. I would imagine that cold slick pads would make some kind of noise on cold mornings.
It's either condensation causing small amounts of rust to rub against the pads, or your parking brake pads are rubbing against the inside of your discs. The parking brake is a cable actuated drum brake that fits inside the rear brake discs. I've had nothing but problems with F150 parking brakes, when I reverse cold they just howl. Occasionally they even stick slightly. My old 04 had the same setup and the brake would get stuck on, and when trying to drive it would cause so much heat that the truck would shake violently after about 5 miles at highway speed.
My 2012 started doing it this year. It howls and squeals really loud! The other day a neighbor was watching as I backed out of my driveway. I told him it builds character so I don't ever think I'm too cool.
Although, I should have told him the truck is so powerful that the brakes are being destroyed just trying to hold it back!
The last 4 F150's did the same thing. Most of the time it was on cool or damp morning when the humidity was higher. I think it's fairly normal for an F150.
