Weak Reverse even when warmed up

02 7.3 4X4 Auto, The reverse is weak can't get out of it's own way even when warmed up, When cold forget about it. if the rear tires are in a little gully, I have to rock the truck to get it out! Otherwise the truck pulls like a beast? Talked to a mechanic and he said this was typicle for the auto trans something about reverse not being proprietary of something? Obviously this is no good when pulling a 10K trailer and needing to back up, you can't always drive away?

What is happening with Engine RPM during the weak reverse?

If RPM is high and racing, then you may have a trans issue.

If RPM is low, then sometimes this can be caused by E-Brake or brakes hanging up. Or could still be trans but not as likely as a brake issue.

Forward when cold is normal. RPM are way down when in Reverse when cold, sounds like no power? Brakes feel fine, were just done pads and rotors.

maybe a solenoid pack is bad,Brian at Brians Truck Shop is great,if you ask to speak to him about your problem he'll tell you whats wrong or tell you how to find out whats wrong
