Hey everyone, I know that I'm rehashing something that has been covered about a trillion times but I can't find the answers that I need. About a year ago I bought a 97 F250 HD in great shape that had the usual loose steering. I adjusted the steering box and it was great for about half a day, then I started feeling it loosen up again till I was right back at square one. I must have done that half a dozen times then consigned myself to the fact that the front end/steering was shot. I did a dana 60 swap up front, replacing everything with moog and dana/spicer parts. I also replaced the steering box and hoses, so basically the entire front end and steering system is brand new. Problem is I still have the loose steering, I tried adjusting the box and it did the same thing as before, loosening up over the course of a day or two until I was right back where I started. Which let me tell you sucks because damn that was expensive. I was hoping someone might have some insight on how to eliminate or at least lessen it because I feel like I'm driving in a 1950's movie. Now don't tell me that it's a ford and that's just the way it is, because hell no I'm not going to just deal with it. Thanks in advance for any help everyone!
Nothing huh? Well I was doing a little research and people keep mentioning aftermarket steering boxes like redhead. Are these worth the money and would one likely fix my problem?
I just put on my red head and it works great. More money? Yes. I was shopping and my wife said, this piece is too important, get the best you can, so I went with red head. They seem to do it right.
