In the process of wiring my 52 Ford F1 I came across a wire from the EZ wiring kit that I bought that is an accessory wire that needs to be wired to the accessory terminal of the key switch. I'm using my original key switch and there isn't an accessory terminal on the key switch.
Any idea as to where the accessory wire should attach? I'm wanting to think the battery terminal on the key switch but I'm not positive. I'm using the push button starter in conjunction with the key switch.
Normally the ACC circuit is for powering limited items on the car whereas the key on position powers up everything. Is this a modern style truck or more original with limited electrical items? What do you have wired to run off the ACC power feed, or maybe you do not have anything that needs it? The only thing I could see using the ACC feed is the radio for say going to the drive in or just listening to it while sitting in the truck. You wouldn't want to just sit in the truck with the key on the "key on" position, especially if you have a points style ignition.
The GAUGE terminal on the original switch is the corollary to ACC. I have everything related to running (ignition, tach, etc) on the IGN terminal and all the accessories (radio, heater, wipers) on GA.
Drptop70ss, it's basically just the original truck with just a new harness. I may be able to omit the wire, I just wanted to be sure of where it went and you actually answered my unspoken question of what the Accessory wire controlled.
