First off, if there is a place for this question feel free to move it to their.
Anyway as some of you may know I have the old 47 with thee 360 in it. What I was wondering is if the 351 Fe parts will fit it, i want a 4bbl intake manifold for it but you can't exactly buy one for a 360.
There were no "351" FE motors. The 4.00 x 3.50 FE was called a 352. The other 4.00 x 3.50 motors were the W, C and M, in that order. Nothing other than the oil filter will interchange with an FE from one of those.
Be sure you are getting an FE part. The FE is the only manifold that goes under the valve covers, so that would be the prime ID.
Iron jobs are 80+ lbs. too.
As for putting one on a 360, do the exhaust first. Serving suggestion.
Early car FEs had different shaped intake ports. Basically, if the oil filler is in the intake, the intake won't fit a truck FE. Otherwise it's all swappable. You can get 4BBL intakes for 390s and 428s from Summit, they will bolt right on to a 360. You can also use the S code iron 4BBL intake, but it's insanely heavy.
Hanging over the front of a truck trying to delicately place it as far as you can reach, being careful not to smear the bed of RTV at the end of the valley, yes it is insanely heavy. Especially when an aluminum Edelbrock weighs about 15lbs.
