I'm looking for an intake for a 390 I'm putting together and have run into one advertised as "Ford 390 GT S code 4V intake-C6AE casting" for $75. Is this one I should pick up or should I keep looking? I can't find it listed in the books I have. Books aren't that good.
It's more or less your basic FE intake. Also used on most cars and trucks besides the GT 390 engines. $75 is a bit much. These are $30-40 intakes at the PYP yards. It's about the same as the Edel Performer except it's cast iron and pretty heavy.

Thanks. I had heard that the "S" code was a better than average intake. I guess I'll pass on it.

The C7AE-9425-F and C6AE-9425-H are 2 of the more common PI intakes out there. These are in the $700-800 and up range in nice shape. Blue Thunder sells a nice repop PI for around $500. There are no real GT390 intakes persay. They are the same S intakes used on other FE's. I'm sure Bill can tell you the part numbers on the PI intakes. Those I listed are the casting number found on the intake itself.
