Wiper motor replacement

I am doing a heater box replacement and decided to change out wiper motor at same time.

I pulled a wiper motor n switch from 79 bronco. Switch is hi low just like my 79 f250.

Problem is there are two wires that I had to cut between the main harness and switch to get the switch and motor out.

When I look on eBay it seams all replacement motors come with a 3 ft integrated pigtail with terminals on the end of the 4 wires running to switch

My guess is that there is no disconnect between motor n switch so you have to pull the wire terminals from the switch connector. This seams like a real pain to pull terminals out of the connector

It would be nice to avoid cutting the harness between motor and switch or between switch and body harness.

Is a wire splice my only option?

Tks

The wiper motor should have a plug that plugs into the back of the switch. It's not hardwired to the switch.
I reread your question, I think your saying that the new motor comes with terminals but no shell. If that's the case, removing the terminals from your plug is relatively simple. If you look, there is a small tab in the center of each terminal. All you do is use something small enough to get in the shell and depress the tab and pull the terminal out.

Here are a couple of pictures of a similar terminal.
This is from a damaged wiring harness that I was rebuilding. In the first picture, the tab I'm talking about is inside the green rectangle. The second picture is a side view, you can see how the tab sticks out to lock the terminal inside the plastic shell.

Thanks Mike, I will try this route and report back.

To be clear, there is no disconnect between the motor and the connector that goes into back of switch.

Since connector at back of switch is also hardwired to main body harness you can not replace the connector with the motor.

The only options are

1) cut wires between Switch connector and main body harness and use butt connectors to new switch connector
2) cut wires between Switch connector and motor and use butt connectors to new motor
3) As Mike suggested pull the old motor terminals out of the switch connector and slide in the new motor terminal to the switch connectors
4) Pull the main body harness terminals out of the switch connector and slide in the old terminals into a new connector already wired to new motor.

Well scratch everything I said above. After a closer look there are two connectors that plug into back of switch. Together they look like one connector. One connector goes to main body harness and the other goes to the motor.

I did not see this in any of the posts.

2 wires and small connector go to body harness
5 wires and large connector go to motor
