Key Pad Under Handle
Key Pad Under Handle
My new truck (2014 Lariat) has the number keypad under the driver's door handle. Is the factor code for this printed anywhere? The dealership didn't tell me how to use it when I took delivery.
Displaying the Factory Set Code
With Integrated Keyhead Transmitters
You will need to have two programmed passive anti-theft keys for this procedure. To display the factory-set code in the information display:
Insert a key into the ignition and switch the ignition on for a few seconds.
Switch the ignition off and remove the key.
Insert the second key into the ignition and switch the ignition on.
The factory-set code will display for a few seconds. It may not display until after other warning messages have displayed first.
Just an FYI you don't want anyone to know this code. It is a factory code that can be used at any time just in case you forget the codes you have previously entered.
Hope this helps.
If you don't have the card with your vehicle info there is another way to find it.
At least on my 2012 it is printed on the fuse module hidden behind the passenger side lower kick panel. If you pull the kick panel and grab a flashlight you can't miss it. The numbers are fairly big and in plain sight.

As mentioned, you should have a credit card sized instruction plastic card that's white with the 5 digit code. You can read owners manual to see how to make custom codes but you need the factory code to do so. The dealership can pull the code, so if the card is missing have them do this for you free of charge (since you just bought it an all).
