I am going to go down to the HUD office to see if I can find out what the delay is in getting the apartment inspected. Of course, being a government office, I doubt they have a clue.

I like that, and it is probably true too. LOL Well, in my case, as usual, nobody has a clue. Itold my case worker it has been past the 10 business days I was quoted for a inspection call, and she told me she wold look into it, she came back out and told me my name was not even on the inspection list! And this is actually 16 days past their quote as I put in the paperwork to them on the 18th of last month. So, she emailed them and told me she would call me when she gets a response.

Maybe it is a good thing though, as I came home and decided to look at other properties Fox Property Management had, and decided to check the reviews of the company. There were only 5 reviews, and every single one of them gave them a score of 1 star out of 5. So it looks like I may be looking for another apartment to rent.

Good Morning NorCal...Was over on the coast yesterday, and Man! was it a spectacular day. Got to visit with some friends and wander around the town of Mendocino. I forget how close that is to me...I need to do that more often.
Oh well, back to work today...

I have a friend who's been trying to get me to move to Montana, and while the hunting and gun laws may be much better I dont think I could be that far from the coast. I dont really like the ocean, but I like the thought of being within a few hours drive.

If you guys want to be bummed today go on over to the 95-97 Diesel section and check out the off topic thread. One of the cooler trucks over there had a fire possibly behind the turbo yesterday...

Don't need to get anymore bummed than I already am. Found out I will be having surgery next month on my stomach. And HUD still has not called me to tell me when they will inspect my new apartment.

Happened to find 2 things in freezer for daiquiris so I bought a cheap bottle of rum. Been years but what the hay
Half a day in SF friday then Sunday and go bag is packed an heading to Healdsburg for a week. At least when I`m up north the traffic is generally better than all those lunatics on bay bridge

 

Well, the HUD people finally called today (while I was in line at the HUD office no less. LOL) and they will be out to inspect the apartment Tuesday the 21st at 3:45pm. If all goes well, I should be able to move in the next day.

Well it's about time , should be smooth rolling now Jim . Getting ready for LIL Bubbles swim Championship meet, last one for the year, Kind of glad in a way I mis sleeping in on Saturdays .

 

Saturday is the only day I can sleep in. That will change once I get my own place.

I will be moving into my new apartment next Wednesday. I figure it will pass the HUD inspection on Tuesday, and already have a 10:30am appointment for Wednesday to sign the lease, and can move in anytime after that. I will give them the first month's rent, and Westcare will pay the security deposit. Then I just need to pay the 10 days of July rent on the first of August and I will be set. I have already called PG&E to switch the account to my name, and they have what they call All Connect which gives a discount for Comcast or AT&T. I went with Comcast, because with my poor credit, AT&T wanted a $450 deposit! Comcast will send me a self install kit since they could not get a technician out until the following Sunday, and I don't want to be without the Internet that long.

With that said, since I am moving on Wednesday and the self starter kit will not be there for 3-5 business days, there is a chance I will not be back on until later in the week. If it gets to me in 3 days, it should be there Wednesday, if not, it may be Thursday or Friday before I will have Internet. There is a Denny's not too far from my new apartment, but I have already eaten there twice this month, and cannot afford to do it again just to use their free WiFi.
