Does anyone know what torque value is in foot pounds that Ford recommends for the 10mm bolts that attach the overload spring bumper brackets to the frame on a 2014 F250?
The service DVD doesn't show any value. I would assume that if you tightened it snugly and not over tight it would be ok. There is no movement of the bumper even when compressed.
I would think Ford would specify a bolt torque value for the bolts that attach the frame mounted brackets that the auxiliary overload springs make contact with when the truck is loaded. On a truck that comes from the factory with overloads the front frame mounted bracket is riveted to the frame and the rear bracket is bolted. To add overload springs to a truck you have to bolt both front and rear brackets to the frame and I doubt Ford would not have a torque specified for that.
I suspect the bolts used to attach these brackets are nothing special. The truck would still be functional even if one broke off or came loose. I would find the torque value for the size both used to attach them to the frame and use that value when mounting them.
