P0264

Early 99' model I picked up. Blew the oil cooler and had lot of pressure in the Degas bottle, so did head job and oil cooler and now I'm Still getting a P0264. Unplug #8 injector truck almost dies, plug it up and she smooths out...

P0264 is for cylinder 2. It could just be a bad connection in your driver side UVCH.

I could be wrong on the P code, but AE said cylinder 8....

It could just be an old code. Or just enough resistance in the circuit to throw a code. Is there a slight intermittent miss? Check the connections on both inside and outside of the valve cover gasket.

Yea, just enough of a miss to hear, but not enough to throw a code or change the rpm.... At idle....

You can throw codes without setting off the SES light. If it is a slight miss then it is most likely the UVCH. The connectors are notorious for wearing out and not keeping a tight connection. I suspect that is your problem.
