I recently bought my first american ford (i live in England) A 64' f100 with 460 v8, c6 trans. And dana 60 locked rear end. Anyway my question is:- there are no engine tags or engine no. i can find, so im not sure of the engine date, but the block & heads casting no.s are D1VE-6015-A2B and D3VE A2A, respectively. I cant find an intake no. So were there many water temp. sender types for this engine as i've tried a couple and they dont fit? Would anyone have some part no.s. So i could try to match to my existing part via pics.
That motor may be out of a lincoln, and you may need to look it up under a continental or other models. Those casting numbers were used from 73 until who knows? I'm an EFI guy, so my advice is limited.
The first two casting numbers, are decade and year, D1VE= 1971.... C8SE intake mani would be 1968. The intake manifold numbers should be on the number 4/7 intake runner right behind the carb... you can see the writing in the photo. The temp sender should be 5/8 inch NPT... NPT = National Pipe Thread.
Thats great thanks, just seen theres a no. on mine its covered in dirt up there, thats why i couldnt see it, i'll take the carb off tomorrow and check the no. Thanks again.
