This should be my 5th post and then I can post a pic of what I've put together so far. I already have an Explorer 65 mm TB, so if 65 mm won't create a vacuum in the upper plenum during WOT, then I should be OK. If I bog or get a vacuum reading, I'll have to go BBK 70 mm.
IS a factory 70 mm and 70 mm EGR plate?
I don't plan to change the 5.8 lower manifold. Just restick it with a new gaskets and a 1/4" bead fr & Rr to avoid seal slide out. This $500 drop-in engine project has near $1000 of stuff I will need. Going with an aftermarket lower is just not in the plan.
Ok, let us know what the results are. I don't believe we asked if it was only stock or built somewhat ..... if you care to provide details that is fine as well ...
It's going into my 1971 early Bronco (non-smog). I run desert, forest trails, and rock crawl. That's why I need torque between 1500-3000.
Bronconator has super low gearing 435 (6.67 1st gear)-203 doubler range box (doubles any gear ratio)-Dana 20 (2.56), into 4.11 9", turning 37" Goodyear MTRs. This is in Big Bear on Holcomb Creek climbing up a 10' ledge.
If you aren't revving over 3500-4000 I would think that even the stock 5.8 manifold would be sufficient. Being in a crawler, 95% of your driving is under 40% throttle. And as for a computer, even a 351 computer for a 351/c6 combo would work.
