2001 Ford Explorer problems

All,

I was wondering if there is a known problem with the 2000, 01 & 02 Explorer engines that cause the engine blocks to crack due to extreme heat??

Also, what exactly does a Premium Bumper to Bumper warrenty cover and how many miles on top of the standard 3yr-36K does it run for???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

2001 Ford Explorer problems

the blocks would not crack from extreme heat but rather from rapid temprature change suck as going through water and soak the block. i am not aware of any such problem and it would heklp if you mantioned what engine you are talking about

2001 Ford Explorer problems

Well, it was a false alarm!! A buddy who works for Chicago Stamping had sent me a fake:

Make : FORD Model : EXPLORER Year : 2001
Crash : No Fire : No Number of Injuries: 0
ODI ID Number : 10024582 Date of Failure: June 20, 2003
Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
Summary: Coolant leaking from crack in engine block.

He got me and got me good!!!

A very pleased Ford Explorer owner......
