How much oil do you use?

Mine is a '94 crew cab dually, 5 spd with factory turbo. 157k miles. 4.10 gears. It screams at 75-80mph. I use about a quart every 1k miles. Mine gets driven pretty hard, sees 1200 degree egts regularly and 15psi. Pump turned up 3 flats. I like to get where i am going, trailer or not. What kind of consumption are you folks seeing and what are your driving habits?

I've noticed that if i fill it to the top of the hashmarks on my F350 it'll go down to the halfway mark pretty quickly. But once there it doesn't drop anymore. My F250 seems to go through a couple of quarts every 5k. But it has alot of miles (over 507k)

Mine uses 2qt every 3k, the lower it is it seems like the more it uses.... maybe just my imagination.

my 88 with 494k miles on it LEAKS around 1 gt every 400-500 miles.
when i pull the cab and nose i am resealing the engine. then it should go back up to the 1 qt every 3k miles like it used to use.

I typically end up putting in 2-3 quarts per 8000km oil change interval if I want to keep it right up on the dipstick. It does seem to use oil a little slower once it gets down past the halfway mark but I don't usually run it any lower than that.

I add 1-2 quarts inbetween 5k mile oil changes. Usually about the 3.5k mile mark. Not sure how much is burnt and how much leaks out the corner of my valve covers.

Hardly any, knock on wood. I usually don't add any between changes, half a quart if anything. 5K interval changes using Delo 400 (15W-40).

Before I had it rebuilt, probably 1-2qt every few hundred miles.

Now, well, I'd say approximately nothing(<1qt every oil change), but it's only had a few K on it since rebuilding.
Part of this is due to my rebuilder tightening the ring gaps up; stock the ring gaps are huge(Like .080 on one of the rings). He tightened them to <.010; I forget the numbers. It definitely makes for a cleaner, less oil using engine.

Oh, and I've got a turbo, RD2-110 pump etc.... but for now, I'm not leaking oil(crosses fingers).

I change my oil every 3k miles, and I never have to top up the oil. The level on the dipstick never changes.

The only time I've seen it consume any oil is when I overfilled it by 1-1.5 quarts. It didn't take long for it to drink the extra oil, but it stopped right at the full mark.

15w-40 Rotella-T. Motocraft FL1995 filter It seems my truck also likes to consume more oil when closer to the full mark. Also will consume more at highway speeds rather than city driving. Im guessing with the lower loads and rpms it does not throw as much oil up to get burned
