I might have to agree with you there, had delo 15w-40 in in the beginning and seemed much better on the oil economy haha. I caught the rotella on sale though and trust the name from research i had done on zinc content. not sure if that has changed or not.

I have heard this as well, however I have noticed no difference when I used Rotella.

I'm running Rotella 15-40w conventional, no extra additives or anything. I apparently have the only IDI that doesn't drink Rotella.

The previous owner told me he only used conventional Delo 400 15-40w since the truck was new (290k miles when I bought it), and also that he always added a bottle of Lucas oil additive with every oil change.

i don't think it is a conventional rotella oil drinking problem, i think it is more a problem with the synthetic oils disappearing.
i know on my vehicles synthetic pours rite out of them when people do not listen to me and try putting it in.
switch it back to plain old dino all fleet and no more leaks.

Another Rotella user. Dipstick stays pretty much on full considering a few leaks here and there. Definitely doesn't use much I'd say. Rarely have to add between changes.

Edit: I don't drive very nice either. It is often at WOT till I get to speed. Maybe that helps? LOL Keeps the cylinder walls clean at least right?

15-40 Valvoline Premium Blue, after my researching its the only thing ill buy. Cheap and great oil. I wouldnt put Delo in if it was free (the new LE stuff, the old Delo 400 was great) If i change at 3k i dont have to add any as its right at the add mark, usually ill top it off at 2500-3k and go 5k before i dump it. Mine leaks and i assume burns some. Not a diesel if it doesnt use a lil oil.
