Power steering

Hey guys, need some expertise.. Power steering gone on the beast. Weird though, it seems to go in and out??? I've been reading that there could be a clog in the lines or air that would cause this.. Is this true?

Second damn truck leaks everything so I'm doing what I can by funds and priority, just keeping things full.. It has fluid. If pump was shot wouldn't it seize up the pulley? Is it possible that pump is crap and pulley still spinning..

Thoughts?

Your pump is toast, and if you bolt on a new pump, it'll probably go out in short order if you don't flush all of the old fluid out. The best course of action is to replace the current pump, and rebuild the current gearbox. Then you should have a trouble free system for a long time.

Also curious if this is normal. The steering rod coming from the firewall into the gearbox looks to be slightly angled.. Is this right. These are the best pics I could get..
