I purchased a new tank from the truck shop. It is a copy of the original side tank I'm trying to find what the the size and thread for the bung that connects to the pickup tube on the tank. the one on my original tank was welded on to the tank and after a few trips to the parts store I thought I would see if anyone here has some thoughts on the matter.

My Illustrations parts book doesn't show that on the side mounted tanks, but the Text catalog does list part number 87972-S as a connector, fuel line to tank. Is that what you're looking for?
It's the same part number for the connector going from the fuel pump to the carb, I think.
