I was told today my brake lights were out. I checked and sure enough none of the 3 worked. I checked bulbs. Good. I checked all fuses. Good. I replaced brake switch on the pedal. Still no lights.
What's next?
How did you check the bulbs....did you use a meter to test for 12vdc in the sockets? Are your tail lights working, just not brakes? Only thing you haven't mentioned is wiring....could be a cut anywhere but I'd start from the lights themselves and look at the wiring/harness under the bed. Perhaps somebody hacked into it for trailer lights or something and connections have gone bad? Just guessing....
So you are looking at a dual filament bulb and assuming it is good? I agree with that logic, but there isn't always the obvious visual break in a filament. I'd try a replacement bulb just in case....could be the simple approach. Odd coincidence that all are burned out, but anything is possible I guess.
This happened to me a couple of month ago. I found it to be in the terminal connection behind the bumper. I would unplug that and test from there. I had no turn signals either, just backup lights. Check the ground wire off of the terminal as well.

That is where I was going to start. Just haven't had time
Update... have replaced the switch, pigtail on the switch had 2 burnt connections, all bulbs. Have power on the green/ red wire at the switch and the red/green has power when the pedal is pressed.
Still no brake lights.

Which wire is the ground in the rear??
Did you change the actual brake switch on the brake pedal?
Did you change the actual brake switch on the brake pedal?
Yes I did. I'm on my way to advance to get the cruise control deactivation switch now in my wife's car because the truck won't start now. Relay just clicks. Screw driver to the solenoid and it starts right up
Are your hazards working?
There is a relay under the dash just on the back of the little compartment.
Its a tight fit but that relay controls the hazards and turn signals, I think it also controls the brake signal give it a check. Sincw your going to advance, tell them to print a pic of the rrelay so you know what to look at.
double check that switch, the wiring diagram I have for an 01 says the LG/R is power to the switch, and the LG is power from the switch to the lights, the Rd/LG you reported earlier is just a signal to the abs, pcm, bcm, etc. totaly different circuit.
