brake lights

I have a 1982 Ford Club Wagon Van. I cannot get the brake lights to work. All the other lights work, but the rear lights are dim. It looks like the brakes are operated by vacuum. Does anyone have any thoughts as to why all of a sudden the brake lights are out? They were all working perfectly.

Just looking through past posts, have you found the problem yet?

Take the rear lights apart and check the bulbs and sockets for corrosion. Check the grounds for corrosion at the rear. Get a voltmeter and check the voltage on the pins in the sockets.

These are air vacuumed from the brake peddal, not electrical. Also, everything works except for the brake lights. Thanks anyway.

Explain this set-up. You mean you have brake lights in the rear that are not working, but they do not contain bulbs like a regular van or truck?
