I'm stuck and cannot figure out how to install the two springs that tension the hood latch and handle.
Does one tension the latch pictured and the other the bar handle that activates the latch pictured?
Which way is the bar handle tensioned?
Here are a couple of hard to take pictures from 50 Ford. Remember the hood latch releases both the safety and the regular latch when you pull it. Hope these pictures help you. Patrick
The last spring is out of site in my 1st picture of my previous reply, hiding left center behind the bracket behind the flat spring. When I look through the front hole in the hood where the hand latch is, I can only see the end of the spring that hooks over the bottom plate of the latch handle. This is looking through the hood hole towards the pivot end of the latch. I can see that the spring lays horizontally beneath the plate of the latch handle with the big loop towards the front of the hood and out of site. I can't see or feel the other end of this spring. I assume it is pressing against the very front of the hood. Hope this helps. If you want a picture of what I see through the hole let me know. Patrick
