I finally got the hood latch in my 48 F1. The latch is from a 89 S-10 Blazer. Had to got to the u-pull-it yard yesterday and find a stronger spring to pop the hood when I pull the lever inside. I looked for a Ford spring but only found a Chevy spring that I cut to length. I meant to get some pictures but never seem to have my camera when I am working at the other shop. I know the original latch is very unique but I wanted something more up to date.
Looks great and nice work on the fab. Couldn't find Ford parts that would work? No offence just asking.
We looked at my son's S-10 and decided it would be a good latch for this application. I did get the cable for the release of off a Ford. The relaese handle is what you see the most so I will be thinking Ford most of the time.
Man that is sweet, we have to get together some time; maybe during the meets you mentioned at Big Boy.
Hey Jaye, Thanks,I will let you know when they start back at Fat Boys with the car shows. I was going to take my truck there unfinished the last time but got rained out.
