Biscuits are only on the 53 -56 cab mounts. 48-52 had flat rubber pads like a section of a tire on the front two bolts (bottom of firewall and thru floor at front door post) The dog bones have rubber bushings around the two bolts. can't be seen without removing dog bone. all the 48-52s I've seen have the door hinges tack welded to the door post to hold alignment unless door has been replaced. Factory approved alignment method per shop manual would be to pry up on back edge of door with a 2x4 or put a block in lower hinge and spring hinge until aligned. Yes that is the way Ford did it.
Thanks AXracer. I ordered a new set of mounts as the others were homemade. I played with the door a bit last night. If I wedge a shim in the bottom hinge the door comes up a bit (on the back) as I try to close it. The problem I see is it appears the top hinge will need to go in some also. IF I can get the hinge screws out I think I will have to shim the bottom out some and maybe use the spoon method to beat the top mount plate in some (towards the front of the truck). If I don't do both it looks like the door will hit on striker pillar.
I managed to get the door hinge bolts out last night. I had been reaching in the back and trying to spray rust penetrant on the bolts. Not sure I hit them but when I put the battery operated impact on them they came out. One was a little tough. Had to keep hammering it for a minute or so. It finally gave up.
Someone had put some sort of plastic looking shim behind the lower hinge. What do you use for shim stock on these door hinges?
Looks to me from the pict. that the top door hinge is sprung or opened out compared to the lower one.

I think you are right Bill. I will take a closer look tonight at that and see if I can somehow close that gap. That would certainly pull the top of the door up in the back which is what I need.
It appears the door seal is holding the upper hinge out some. I took a razor and thinned it down some. I will rehang the door tonight and see if it is any better. Picked some tapered bolts with recessed allen heads to replace them. Grade 5. 6 Cost me about $3.
I have similar alignment problems on my 52 F-1. Can somebody measure the the distance between the bottom of the cab and the top of the frame right at the dog bone position? I would really appreciate it!
