The firewall stamping isn't a vin, just a build code.
You have most of it figured out. 14C on the end is undecipherable, unique to each plant and nobody knows what it meant.
M is color code for Meadow Green in 1950
Yep...my bad, I knew it was the build code...should have edited that. So is it a weird twist of fate that both Mater and I were born in July and just 4 days apart? Interesting...
I am on the search to match the wrong number on my Title. Im wondering if that is what they used instead of the VIN even though it doesnt seem to be the same type number
Just found this stamped on the driver side near the hood hinge PANR20 E63. Any idea what that is?
That is the firewall stamping.
Are you sure that is what is stamped there? And in that order?
P= color -prime
A= color - black ... does not make sense that they would stamp 2 paint codes
NR= Norfolk assembly plant...this makes sense as that is where the norfolk stamps are located.
OK, the P does not look like it is part of the stamping. BTW please don't use sand paper or a grinding wheel to find stampings. A course Scotchbrite pad with water is best.
