Are all Ford trucks the same or nearly so. You could look up pigtail adapters for controllers and get a good read on how many are the same. I know my pigtail fits a good number of models. If not using a pigtail, it is pretty easy to test individual pins or leads at the connector.
The more I look the deeper it gets. lol. started tracing some things out under dash. Again, the group of wires with a ford factory tag labeling them by color as brake feed, illumination, brake lamp from controller, etc. Those are kind of as I remember not exact. But apparently my 'pigtail' for brake controller? And wouldn't you know the brake controller feed and 'some other' feed are routed through a toggle switch on the dash. Flip the switch and that constant 12 goes away on blue wire. Aaaannnnddd....after replacing fuses and such, the orange is now ignition switch controlled hot wire. Things are kind of coming together, but still scratching my head on some of this.

Yea, ain't I lucky? lol. I guess if you wanted to turn off power to controller? How much can it draw when not in use? Oh well. Time to get a controller and see what happens.
