High Output Alternator Problem DB Electrical

I have an 03 Excursion with a 6.0L. I bought a 200 amp alt from DB Electrical. It is the small case. I thought it would be the large case but that is not really the problem. At idle I get 70 amps and 12.3 volts. At 1200 RPM I get 13.3 Volts and 120 amps. At 2000 RPMs I get 13.7 volts. I was not able to check the amps because I could not see the meter and step on the accelerator pedal at the same time. I called them and asked them if this sounded right and the guy that I spoke with was not sure. He transferred me to someone else and I got their voicemail. I am waiting for them to call back. The website says voltage regulator is set at 14.5 volts and at 600 rpm full load peak of 100 amps. At 1200 rpm peak of 200 amps. So why am I getting such low voltage? And if the system was only drawing 70 amps like at idle then it shouldn't be putting more amperage at more RPMs. So I think this might not actually be a high amp alternator. I should be getting higher voltage, right?

Sounds the the voltage regulator is bad... I have a DC Power 270 and never see anything less than 14.2 nor more than 14.6 regardless of my RPM'S.

I'm in Lincolnton NC. I finally got my wife to step on the pedal. (It was like pulling teeth.)The most I get is about 160 amp. That's with both fans on high, low beam and high beam, 2 fuel heaters, and rear defrost on. Right now I have both fans on and marker lights and have 12.1 volts. I had 240 amp that I bought from ebay when I was low on money, and it started working intermittently. (Eagle auto electric). Can't get a hold of them. So put 3 different regulators in it and still got low voltage. I thought this DB Electrical alternator was going to be the answer

From the OBD2 and from the cigarette lighter. They are within 0.2 volts of each other.

This is also on the website....I know mine usually starts at 12.5V but once I get moving jumps to a solid 14.45V which is close enough for me..

-!~IMPORTANT~!-
The alternatoramperage output is controlled by the internal voltage regulator andwill vary depending on battery state of charge and electrical loadconditions. The alternator will not continually charge at a rate of 200amps but will charge the battery back to full capacity.

I've had both batteries tested. They are both about 6 months old.

Hi phatman. Any ideas? You are about 40 minutes away. Wish you were just a little bit closer.

What is your voltage once you start driving around? Like I said, mine starts off low then eventually settles at 14.45 once I actually get going.

Sounds like voltage regulator to me.
40 mins is nothing lol. My weeks are fairly busy but if you ever need a hand on weekends give me a shout.
