rear spring question

I've been meaning to ask this for a while. I'm putting v codes under the front of the excursion. I am taking a break right now, have passenger side done and will finish up other side in a bit. Preliminary numbers on the passenger side and it sits with about 1/2" rake.
Rear springs look to be more expensive than fronts. I have an extra set of rear springs from the parts vehicle, my question is can I take a few leaves from the parts rig and add them to the daily driver, in order to gain a bit of lift in the rear? Kindof like a modded b spring, but using my stock springs?
I am doing the front swap because I can tell that they are weak, but as far as I'm concerned the rear ones are just fine.

SURE, If your happy with the rears you could add more leaves OR for 1 1/2" of lift in the rear you could just add a F-350 4" block (3 1/2").

Fixed that for you you don't want to add a block, just replace your 2" for the F-350 block.

Only problem is those blocks aren't cheap.

Might I suggest you put the front on....then do nothing for a week.
You might be ok with it as is. Maybe not. The rake and or minus rake may not be anything of note. Or substantial and you want to address it.
Regardless you will be so happy you ditched those garbage front springs.

Good luck

If there's a Pick n Pull near you, they run about 10 bucks for both sides- even less if they fit in the bottom of your tool bag!!

The math would also tell the story 2"+3 1/2" = 3 1/2" lift,
3 1/2" - 2" = 1 1/2" lift.

You should be able to secure a pair for under $50.

Yeah I plan on waiting to see how things settle out. Who knows, maybe now that the junk fronts are gone, I'll be able to notice if the rears are worn out.

If I do anything merely to lift it a bit, I'm leaning to the extra springs, just because I have them already, unless the blocks are better somehow.

Generally blocks would never be better than springs. The issue is that springs may become to stiff by adding to much arch or to many leaves. The whole point of a spring is to spring

Update, it drives fine and the springs aren't worn out. I'm looking at putting in the lift blocks, is it necessary to go with Ford blocks? There are some kits out there, I can get both blocks and 4 new bolts for about the same price as one of the ford blocks! Are these any good?
This one says it fits the excursion, but doesn't mention the overload contacts.
Lift Block Kit - 2000-2005 Ford Excusion 4wd - 4 Tapered Blocks [97057] | $83.95 | SD Truck Springs | Leaf Springs, Helper Springs and Suspension Parts

This one mentions overload contacts in the compatibility section, but still doesn't picture it.
