Please give me advice. I just finished up putting on a BDS lift on my 93 bronco...I was talked into by a local shop to put a 6 inch coil in front and 4 in leaf spring in rear (plus the factory wedge spacer for the drive angle), because I told him I wanted to be even in the rear. Well I'm squating in the rear about an 1-2 inches. I'm diffenitly going to fixed it. So I'm wondering should I raise it with a block (which the shop says I'll have a better ride and more articulation), but have the chance of cracking the block or replace the 4 in springs for 6 in springs (which the shop says it will be a more harsh ride and less articulation since it will probably add another leaf to the spring pack, also sit up higher in the rear). I like the fact to do the left with just a 6 inch springs (since I would have no block to break), but I also like the idea of better ride and more articulation with the 4 in + block. Please let me know what you would do. Thanks
How many miles are on the front springs? They will settle down, and probably make it sit level when they are broken in. As for the rear, if you do decide to lift it to match, I would stay away from blocks. Yes, you will hear the argument that 'hey! they come stock on trucks!'. Ok, yes they do, but not as big as aftermarket ones. If you do plan on romping this thing offroad, the block will not hold up over time. I know I would not like to be stranded on a trail because the block cracked and the truck is sagging to one side. But hey, thats just my opinion.
