That definitely sounds like failed PCM.

I don't have a pic of where its at, but its located just below the driver side kick panel.

You can check the power at the distributor connector. I just went through all that last night. Here is a website where I got some info on that Part 2 -How to Test the Ford Ignition Control Module (Distributor Mounted) it labels the wires in the distributor connector.
