Yeah theres only one possible way to replace this piece. Only one slot for it to slide down into. I didnt do any kind of serious work on it. tune up and it ran perfectly til now. I used bars leak to stop a radiator leak. It ran good for several trips after that. Now this is whats goin on.

Try changing out the rotor for a new one, button could be bad or a bad cap.

Also when checking for spark, did you use an inline tester or just pull plug, if so, did you ground plug?

The first way I checked was, I pulled the plug wire off the cap and used my multimeter. Right afterwards I plugged the wire back on the cap. Unplugged it from the spark plug isnerted a screwdriver into the plug and had someone crank it while I held it about 1/8th of an inch from some bare metal on the truck. I got nothing both ways

Try the old cap and rotor on if you still have it just to see.

I put on the old cap just to check, still no spark so its sorta discouraging. My fuel pump wont stop priming(dunno how to fix it but im getting great pressure and its getting fuel to the plugs) and no spark, I dont wanna buy an eec if I dont need one but dont know what to do

Fuel pump should only prime for about 1 +/- sec but that's another issue. Maybe someone else will chime in on the spark issue.

Anyone know if it could all be connected to the eec? Or icm? It all happened at once so I dont imagine it being two completely seperate issues

As another member said, the fuel pump should only prime for 2-3 seconds. Is it staying on when the key is turned to the Run position? If it doesn't stop, then you need to pull the PCM.

Where is that pcm located? It continuously run with key turn to run. It stops when I pull the relay out in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
