I have a 1968 F-250 Camper Special with 390/C6 and what I believe to be (was) the original fan shroud. However, looking around at various aftermarket companies I can't seem to find an exact match. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Here's what I have:
Part# Stamping: C8TA 8146 G
The dimensions on it are: approximately 20 1/2" x 28 1/2" with a 20 1/2" fan blade opening. The radiator has the 19" x 26" core.
This is an original truck that rolled out of the San Jose factory in July of 1968 with what I believe is factory A/C. The mounting holes gave up the ghost on the shroud causing it to fall into the fan and breaking into three pieces. This is what it looks like pieced back together:

D3TZ-8146-C (replaced C8TZ-8146-K) .. Fan Shroud / Marked w/ID engineering number on upper left (drivers) side corner: C8TA-8146-S or D3TA-8146-DA
Use with Standard/Xtra Cooling & A/C Radiators (26 1/4" wide x 19 3/4" high) / Reproduced by Carpenter.
Applications: 1968/76 F100/350 360/390.
Factory installed integral A/C is combined with the heater. The A/C controls are in the same panel as the heater controls.
I know the part number is odd; I haven't seen a "G" on anything anywhere else which confused me. I looked at it three different times just to be sure it wasn't a "C" and my eyes were playing tricks on me. I know you are the Guru on this stuff NumberDummy so I trust you.

The number marked on the shroud is an ID engineering number .. it's not a part number. See post #2.
No part numbers marked on parts after 1956, just casting or ID numbers if applicable.
Thank you and sorry for the misuse of terminology. And in regards to the A/C, then yes, it is factory installed. The controls are labeled with A/C, I have the evap mounted under the dash on the passenger side and the compressor has a Ford tag on it. I believe the vehicle was a DSO but I'm not sure what options it came with.

If the DSO code stamped on the 3rd line-far right of the Warranty Plate has 2 numbers, the truck was not a Domestic Special Order.
It may have been ordered special, but whatever the purchaser requested would have been an RPO (Regular Production Order).
In 1979, I had to special order a F150 Lariat Super Cab, as I wanted certain features that most dealers didn't order. Couldn't find a truck within 200 miles with the features I wanted, so there was no "dealer trade" possible.
But, if the DSO code has 6 numbers, it was a Domestic Special Order.
Either a non standard color was applied (no COLOR code on the Warranty Plate), or the truck was sent out after it left the assembly line to have the special equipment installed.
You can order a copy of your trucks original build sheet from martiauto.com by passing along your VIN and some bucks.
Thank you for all the info. And it does have a 6 digit code located above the DSO on the data tag. I just ordered a Marti Report, so I guess I'll see what comes of that.
