HELP with replacing fan shroud PLEASE!

OK I have a 1975 F150 Trailer Special with a factory 390 4V with factory A/C. My fan shroud was destroyed in an accident and I've gotten everything repaired but I'm not sure what fan shroud to order from LMC. Anyone have the part number off the shroud that has a camper special or trailer special? According to Dennis Carpenters site it says the number is on the fan shroud. Unfortunately there's nothing of mine to look at to get anykind of number off of it. So If anyone knows the part number I need to order from either LMC or some other place, please help me out. My truck does have the 4 core super cooling radiator.

According to Dennis Carpenters site it says the (ID) number is on the fan shroud.

There are two possible fan shrouds. There are no Ford part numbers marked on parts after 1956, only ID numbers.

Since you do not have the old shroud that had the ID number marked on the upper drivers side corner, it could be either one.

I have specs for one, but not the other.

D4TZ8146B .. Fan Shroud / Use with SUPER Cooling Radiator ONLY / Obsolete

Marked: D4TA-EB

Fits: 1975/76 F150 390 with SUPER Cooling Radiator or Trailer Towing.

Fits: 1974/76 F250/350 390 with SUPER Cooling Radiator or Trailer Towing.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
-----------------------------------------------
C7TZ8146B .. Fan Shroud / Use with SUPER Cooling Radiator ONLY / Obsolete

Mounting holes: 21 3/8" high / 27 1/8" across.

Marked: C7TA-H / D2TA-HA / D3TA-JA.

Fits: 1967 F100/350 352 / 1968/72 F100/350 360/390 / 1973/76 F100 2WD 360/390 / 1973/76 F100 4WD 360.

Fits: 1973/76 F150 4WD 360 / 1976 F150 390 / 1973/76 F250 2WD 360/390 / 1973/76 F250 4WD 360 / 1973/76 F350 360.

Note: None of the above have any references inre to trailer towing.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY (606-787-5293) shows 5 as of 5/03/2009, but one was sold to another FTE member last week.

JST AUTOMOTIVE in Lebanon TN (615-443-3086) shows 1 as of 5/12/2009.

I listed this same C7TZ8146B info within the last 10 days for FTE member Brady Couchman who bought (and received) one from Wesley.

So...there may be some remaining...there may be none remaining.

When I list obsolete parts...and who has them...here on FTE, they may be sold out with a few hours.

OK the one thing everyone keeps asking for is the number on the old shroud, which I do NOT have of course. Does anyone have a camper special or trailer special that can get the number off their shroud for me????

The NON Super Cooling radiator fan shroud for 1968/76 F100/350's with 360/390's is D3TZ8146C / Marked: C8TA-S or D3TA-DA.

This fan shroud will not fit the 360/390 Super Cooling radiators.
-------------------------------------------------------------
What other Super Cooling radiator fan shroud would you ask for...since there are TWO different ones?

I gave him the specs for one (C7TZ8146B) and the three possible ID numbers: C7TA-H, D2TA-HA, D3TA-JA.

If C7TZ8146B doesn't match the specs of his core support mounting holes, it has to be this fan shroud: D4TZ8146B = marked with ID number: D4TA-EB.

The ID number is molded into the plastic or fiberglass fan shroud at the upper drivers side corner.

It's not on a paper tag that can fall off....so it will be there.

How do you know the ID number you get will be the same as the shroud you had...since there are TWO different shrouds?

The parts catalog makes no reference to Camper Specials inre to fan shrouds.

Since there are two different shrouds and I don't have mine and have no way of knowing what the number was on mine, then tell me please, which of the two is correct?? Is both correct?

Measure your shroud mounting holes and compare those measurements to the measurements that Number Dummy posted in his first post. If your measurements are different than the ones he mentioned than you would need the other shroud (the one he didn't list measurements for), but if your measurements are the same, then the shroud he provided measurements for is the one you need!

Good luck!

I have no idea what the difference is in the two fan shrouds.

I gave you the mounting hole specs for C7TZ8146B.

There are no specs listed in the catalog for D4TZ8146B.

The parts catalog is specific on the Trailer Tow fan shroud for 1975/76 F150's w/a 390 which is D4TZ8146B.

The catalog makes no reference to Trailer Tow for C7TZ8146B.

But...with Ford...you just cannot be sure of anything, and you prolly didn't buy the truck new, so the shroud may have been changed before..so that's why I listed both.

EDIT: What is the diameter of your fan blade? There were several different ones.

It could be that the opening radius is different between the two shrouds.

I have the fan diameter specs.

EDIT: Did you replace your radiator with another, or is the original still there?

Ford radiators have ID numbers marked on the one of the mounting brackets, or in some cases on a tag on the top tank that was brazed on.

Radiator is a factory SCR radiator. I can look for a number on it. I'll get the measurements for the fan and for the mounting holes that was used. I'm leaning towards the D4TZ8146B as the correct shroud as well seeing as how it is stated as being for the towing package setup. I do appreciate the help, believe me. I just don't want to order a shroud that turns out to be incorrect.

I don't want you to order the wrong shroud, either.

When you get the info, post it here, and I'll see what I can do.

The ID number is MARKED on the upper left (drivers side) corner of the shroud.

I think there is enough of mine to find them hopefully
There are two possible fan shrouds for your truck, it depends on whether you have the Super Cooling radiator...or not.

D7TZ8146A .. Fan Shroud / NOT used with Super Cooling radiator / STILL available from Ford

Marked: D7TA-AA

MSRP: $203.98 // y2kfordparts.com price: $140.75.

FTE sponsor: y2kfordparts.com = MILLENIUM FORD in Seattle WA
---------------------------------------------------------------
D7TZ8146D .. Fan Shroud / Use with Super Cooling radiator only / Obsolete

Marked: D7TA-SA

DON SANDERSON FORD in Glendale AZ has ONE: 623-842-8762.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has THREE: 606-787-5203.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has ONE: 800-543-4959.

Sanderson will prolly be cheaper.

OK here is the measurements I have. I did this with a tape measurer and it should be within 1/8"...... 27 1/2" across and 21 1/2" from top to bottom and the fan measures 19" across it's diameter. I could not find any numbers on the radiator itself. With these measurements it "appears" that D4TZ8146B or C7TZ8146B will work????

C7TZ8146B .. Fan Shroud will accept a 19 1/2" diameter fan, the specs you gave seem similar to what the parts catalogs says.

D4TZ8146B .. Fan Shroud will accept a 19 1/2" diameter fan. I have no specs for this shroud.

Which one can be found...as both are obsolete? I dunno if aftermarket parts suppliers have either one.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has D4TZ8146B.

Two obsolete parts vendors (see post # 2) have C7TZ8146B.
