The original radiator on my F-100 has started leaking and I can't find anywhere that repairs them locally, so I'm shopping replacements. I'd really like it to look factory like the rest of the truck. Anyone know whether the ones sold on LMC Truck look the same as the originals?
I think mine is the regular kind? The middle square area measures 19 1/4" high but should I measure the whole thing from top to bottom instead? The upper opening is on the passenger side / lower on the driver side. Mounting holes are 28 1/2" across from each other / 11" measured vertically.
Also I need a fan shroud, mine has been broken in two for years now. It has D0TA 8146 A stamped on the passenger side with a red CAUTION-FAN sticker on top. Not having a lot of luck sourcing that either. Any advice on that?
When I check out Summit's site there isn't a whole lot they say plays nice with a 302 and looks factory without going aluminum/plastic. This is a lot more complicated than I thought it would be. Maybe I'm missing something here?
I'm not sure what my shroud is made of but it sure is crumbly with age. Reproductions are just fine as long as they look alright. I don't want the replacement to fall apart because then I just have to go find another. I like the way the one at Dennis Carpenter looks.
Would love to stay with something not made from plastic but at this point the truck isn't driveable because the original really let go, and I can get this one for just over $120, shipped. I can worry about restoration quality stuff when I get started on that in a couple of years.

D3TZ-8146-B (replaced D0TZ-8146-A) .. Fan Shroud-Use with Xtra Cooling or factory A/C / Marked: D0TA-8146-A or D3TA-8146-CA / Reproduced by Carpenter.
1969/79 F100 302; 1975/79 F150 302.
Note: Carpenter has the wrong ID number listed in his catalog for this D3TZ-8146-B shroud, he says it's D3TA-DA = It ain't, because this is the ID number for the 360/390 shroud.
The part number is correct, but the ID number isn't.

Is the other info on the page good? It says it fits trucks with a 302 with or without A/C which is what I have.
San Antonio has a population of ~1.5 million people, which makes it hard to believe you can't find a rad shop capable of repairing/recoring your rad??

Oops, I need to update that. It's where I lived years ago!
I called around here in Charleston and couldn't find anyone that does it, also asked some old timers in the neighborhood and nobody knew of a shop that's been around in over 20 years. EDIT a different neighbor who's been here since the '70s or earlier knows one place that hasn't closed down yet. I'm calling this afternoon - I'd very much rather repair this one than replace. Like most people I don't tend to toss old car parts so I'd be guaranteed to have the old one floating around in the garage for decades!
