I feel that my truck has become a bit sluggish as of late. It could be completely psychological since I go from driving a small TDI Jetta to this big truck but I would like to think otherwise.
I mainly notice when I'm cruising along and hit a slight incline I really have to romp on the throttle or take my foot completely off the throttle and step back on the pedal to force the torque converter to unlock or downshift out of over drive.
I checked the obvious (trans fluid is fine) and I'm pretty sure it's not slipping but could be?
I swear I have heard the pedals have adjustable potentiometers on them waaay back but don't see anything of the sort on the pedal or articles on it.
I had an old 95 chevy with the 6.5 ltr diesel. It did not down shift at all going over 50 MPH. The trans was geared to low to downshift over that speed. This made it a pain going up grades loaded on the high way.
My 97 powerstroke was an automatic, but I bought it and swapped it with a ZF 5 speed. All in all it was the best decision I made.
