My 96 f250 is sitting about 2.25" lower in the front. I have to replace the ball joints so while I have to get an alignment anyway, I'd like to fix the sagging front end. Question is, should I go with a leveling kit or just an add a leaf set up? Any brand suggestions? Also, what size tires would I be able to run with that set up? Looking at 305s. I will not be hauling or towing anything of great weight.
I gained 1.5-2" on my 89 with a Rancho add a leaf. I just put 285's on. In my opinion I wouldn't want to go bigger without a couple more inches of lift
New ball joints, pivot bushings, new bushings in the spring eyes and spring hangers, and a PROPER alignment will gain you quite a bit. The truck came new slightly nose-down from the factory.
285 or 305 was about as big a tire I planned on going, nothing crazy. It doesn't look like rancho makes an add a leaf for our trucks anymore. I can only find sky jacker. Any other brand leafs that are good out there?
I've only used Rancho, but Skyjacker is reputable. They are pretty basic, so I would think that whatever you can find would work. Does skyjacker specify how much height you gain? My Dad did an add a leaf after I did on his 93 regular cab with a 351W. He had to use a drop down bracket for the steering components to get everything to line up. I didn't have to. It didn't cost much. the alignment shop told us it just depends on the truck
